Merger of PUCT/RRC/TCEQ?

The state Sunset Committtee staff opines in their latest report that “The State could benefit from combining regulatory functions related to gas and water utilities in the Public Utility Commission.  Read their full report here.

 

Anti switch-hold legislation filed by Sen. Davis

The first bill would theoretically prohibit switch-holds, while the second mandates the availability of payment plans year-round.  Sen. Davis is a Democrat, and giving the sweeping victories by state Republicans last week, not sure these bills will get much traction.  But, you never know.
