The 2022 Year End Complaint Scorecard is Now Available!

This 34 page report provides a summary of all electric complaints received by the Public Utility Commission of Texas in Calendar Years 2001-2022. Further it provides some analysis of the trends at play in calendar year 2022 as they relate to these complaints, and presents a summary listing of complaints received by complaint category for each REP in calendar year 2022.

The report also presents summary information on the number of "rule violations" found by the PUCT staff on the informal complaints it closed in 2022.

What You Get If You Purchase the Year-End Complaint Scorecard

  1. For a flat fee of $350, you will receive a PDF file which summarizes the following information for all Retail Electric Providers and Transmission and Distribution Utilities:

bulletnumber of complaints received by the PUCT each month for the previous calendar year by company name and complaint category;
bulletnumber of complaints closed by the PUCT each month for the previous calendar year by company name and complaint category; and
bulletnumber of complaints closed by the PUCT each month for the previous calendar year with violation findings, by company name and complaint category.
  1. For an additional fee of $250, you will also receive an Excel spreadsheet that provides specific, individual complaint details for each of your company's complaints that is identified in any of the summary tables presented in the PDF file.  The spreadsheet allows companies to reconcile the specific complaints contained in the PUCT database to their own internal records for each complaint.
  2. For an additional fee of $250, you can also receive an Excel spreadsheet that provides specific, individual complaint details for all electric complaints that are identified in any of the summary tables presented in the PDF file.

Regulatory Compliance Services obtains the PUCT complaint data directly from the PUCT (Customer Protection Division) complaints database.  Because we know how their systems work, we obtain the data most useful to companies.  While you could obtain this information yourself, you will spend more time (money) and may not obtain all the information that is available.  Let us do the work for you!
